The Pelican fountain, also known as the ‘’buttons’’ is located in front of the Plovdiv Municipality. It’s one of the symbols of the city and the name "buttons" originate from the shape of the seats that surround the fountain. The water of the fountain is illuminated in different colours which light up in the evening. This is also a very popular place where young people and the citizens of Plovdiv like to hang out.

The Pelican fountain is located in close proximity to the Garden of Tsar Simeon and there are plenty of outdoor cafes around it where you can sit down and enjoy some coffee.
