Plovdiv is the most important administrative, academic, economic, commercial and transportation centre of the south-central region. The Municipality of Plovdiv includes the entire city of Plovdiv and is divided into 6 districts: Central, Eastern, Western, Northern, Southern and Trakia. It is located in the centre of the city, along the Main Pedestrian street. It’s close proximity to Tsar Simeon’s Garden, other areas for recreation and overall impressive structure make it a stop worth seeing if you’re strolling down the main street. 

In recent years the municipality has put great emphasis on popularizing Plovdiv as a thriving tourist destination, with many planned events, scheduled renovations and projects that include well known cultural monuments and buildings.
