Bunardzik Hill (also called Liberators Hill) is located to the west of the central part of the city. With its impressive height of 108 meters, it ranks second among the seven hills in Plovdiv. Locals and visitors like to go there and relax on weekends while spending some time in nature. You can go on a leisurely walk up to Alyosha Memorial Monument and enjoy the incredible panorama of the entire city and the beautiful Rhodope mountains.

The incredible statue of Alyosha was erected in 1957 and stands as a monument to the Red Army’s liberation of the city during World War II. The memorial commemorates Soviet casualties incurred during the Soviet occupation of Bulgaria in World War II.
